Touching Story on Ordinary Day

On September 3, a resident in Kowon County was anxiously standing on the road from Phyongsong City to Pyongyang holding a sick little nephew in his arms.

Because his nephew’s condition got more serious on the way to Phyongsong City.

Then a small bus approached them and stopped.

The driver and a woman on the bus took him and nephew after knowing the fact that they were going to the Okryu Children’s Hospital because of the nephew’s illness.

After arriving on the spot, those grateful persons helped him to take necessary admission procedures to the hospital and left the hospital in a hurry.

From the next day, they came to the hospital almost every day to see them.

He requested them to inform their names and jobs, but they only smiled at him every time. Finally, he came to know that they were Rim Yong Sun and Kim Jong Hyok who were working at the Pyongyang General Passenger Service Enterprise.

Such a touching story on an ordinary day shows looks of our society in which everyone regards the pain of others as their own and helps and cares for each other.

Harmonious Neighborhood Unit

Shortly ago, Choe Chun Myong, head of the people’s neighborhood unit No. 101 in township of Jangphung County, remained restless till late at night.

After knowing that an inhabitant of the unit would leave for a construction site, Choe was engrossed in the preparation.

Next day, the inhabitant was so impressed to see Choe who came with materials she prepared with sincerity.

Not only the head but also other neighbors visited him and showed kindred feelings.

Such beautiful deeds helping and caring for each other are pride of the people’s neighborhood unit.

Among them are stories about the old persons who are doing a great deal of work for the families going to work and some inhabitants who visit families with children joining the Korean People’s Army and congratulate them while giving significant souvenirs.

Therefore, the people in the township praise the people’s neighborhood unit calling a harmonious unit.

Tears A Woman Shed

An emergency case was carried to the Ryongchon County Hospital in late July last.

The case is a 9-year-old girl residing in Sinuiju City. She had been to the grandmother’s house for pleasure and lost consciousness due to an unexpected illness. She was hovering between life and death. Her mother was shedding tears bedside her in the fear that her daughter might be unable to recover health.

At that moment the medical workers of the hospital buckled down to intensive treatment for the girl; days and nights of strained emergency treatment passed and the patient was dosed with lots of precious medicines.

Many people including employees of the Ryongchon County Power Distribution Station visited the patient day after day and took benevolent care of her.

Thanks to such warm sincerity and love, the girl recovered her health and left the hospital.

When the girl was released from the hospital, her mother, shedding tears, said to her daughter as follows: "My daughter Yu Mi, please remember that the benevolent socialist system has ensured that you recover your health. You should be a daughter of the benevolent motherland which brings up those benevolent people."

Bouquet Teacher Received

People’s Artist Ri Kil Nam is an old person residing in Okryu-dong No.3, Taedonggang District, Pyongyang Municipality. Some days ago he was visited by his disciples including Pak Kwang Rim, a department head of the Korean Painting Faculty of Pyongyang University of Fine Arts.

The disciples said to their teacher who was so pleased to see them.

"Teacher, Congratulations on the national holiday!"

Ri received a bouquet from the disciples.

Many years have passed since his retirement from teachership; however, his disciples’ respect toward the teacher has never changed and they visited the teacher on the occasion of the national holiday.

The bouquet the teacher received reflects the genuine figure of our society overflowing with the noble morality and ethics.
