The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is a people-centred socialist country whose political ideals, philosophy and mission are “The people are God” and devoted service for their good.

In the country the state places the people before anything else and formulates its policies in their favour to meet their demands and interests. Realistic measures are taken to implement the policies and the working system and order are in place to take responsible care of their destiny and lives.

It is a genuine people’s country where everything is subordinated and oriented to defending the safety and rights and interests of the whole population.

Providing a thorough and substantial guarantee for the people’s safety and interests is regarded as the most important of all state affairs that should be accomplished at any case and without fail.

It is the steadfast viewpoint and stance of the state that nothing is more precious and absolute than the people, the foundation of the country, and nothing is more sacred than their interests.

This is evidenced by the facts that people-oriented policies are invariably enforced on an expansive basis even in the face of the worst challenges and the country achieved victory in the top-level emergency anti-epidemic campaign to defend the people’s safety from the worldwide health crisis and carried out emergency air operations to save flood victims.

The country is a great mother’s embrace that firmly defends and realizes the laughter and happiness of the whole people.

All the Party and state activities are conducted to provide them with substantial well-being, a happier and cultured life. Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!—this represents the steadfast outlook on the people maintained by the Workers’ Party of Korea and the DPRK government.

Months ago a record downpour hit some parts of North Phyongan Province, leaving the inhabitants homeless. At this critical time the state leadership promptly visited the afflicted areas to take powerful emergency measures to protect the flood victims.

The regional-industry revolution that started at the outset of this year has now developed into a comprehensive one covering public health, science and education in addition to the construction of light industrial factories. This highlights the people-oriented character of the state which is never satisfied as regards the work for the good of the people.

The country is the eternal home of the people which promises them a brighter and more thriving future.

All the lines and policies of the state are worked out to hasten its prosperity and provide new ideals and a brighter future to the people.

In the capital city of Pyongyang more than 10 000 flats are built every year and the rural communities across the country are being transformed into modern and cultural ones. This is part of the gigantic housing construction campaign to present the people with a new life and civilization by achieving substantial and remarkable successes and changes waited for and welcomed by the people.

The upbringing, education and edification of children are regarded as the foremost state affair. The children and students of the families who recently sustained flood damages are raised and educated at a high level at the April 25 Hostel and the training ground for military parades under the deep concern of the state.

That’s why the Korean people absolutely support and trust socialism and dedicate their all to defending and adding brilliance to the Korean-style socialism, the cradle of their life and happiness.
