The entire people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea significantly celebrated the 79th founding anniversary of the glorious Workers' Party of Korea.
The visitors to the park in the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, founder and builder of the WPK, are laid in state, paid homage to them, praying for their immortality.
Many people called at the Monument to Party Founding, recalling the immortal exploits performed by the great leaders for the Party building.
The national flag was hoisted with due ceremony in all parts of the country.
The Fifth National Sculpture and Industrial Art Festival was held at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on the occasion of the 79th founding anniversary of the WPK.
Celebration meetings and oratorical contests were held by working people's organizations throughout the country including South Phyongan and Jagang provinces and the city of Kaesong.
Performances were given in all parts of the country including the capital city of Pyongyang.
A performance of the Mansudae Art Troupe was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and a concert of the National Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theatre. The one-act drama "The Man I Want" was performed at the National Theatre and a circus performance was given by artistes of the National Acrobatic Troupe at the Pyongyang Circus Theatre.
Performances were given on the open-air stages set up in different places of the capital city, increasing the festive mood.
Colourful performances were given in North Phyongan, South Hwanghae and South Hamgyong provinces and the city of Nampho as well.
People enjoyed themselves at the Okryu Restaurant and other public service amenities in the capital city and provinces, the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and other bases for leisure activities.
