General education units in Pyongyang strive to improve the qualifications of teachers.
The Okryu Primary School in Taedonggang District makes sure that its teachers draw up their teaching plans on a high level based on an in-depth study of teaching materials, reference books and actual realities related to the teaching contents, and prepare various good teaching and visual aids.
It also orients their teaching method discussions and demonstration lessons to fanning their zeal for competition, which helps increase the number of teachers who have won the title of October 8 Model Teacher and received the certificate of registration of new teaching method and certificate of invention of experimental apparatuses and teaching aids.
And Ryonghung Senior Middle School in Taesong District improves the qualifications of its teachers onto a higher level through a drive to develop new teaching methods.
The new heuristic teaching methods created in the school have been generalized throughout the country as they help students discover the essence of the mathematical questions by themselves.
The experimental apparatuses and teaching aids made by Segori Primary School in Pothonggang District were highly appreciated at the 25th national exhibition of educational experimental apparatus and teaching aids.
Besides, Kangan Primary School in Songyo District improves the teaching abilities of its teachers through their visits to classes at work, panel discussions about teaching, teaching contests and presentations.
