Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov disclosed the confrontation policy of the US and the West in an international symposium on November 4.
He said that the Anglo-Saxons are now trying to rally many European countries under the banner of Nazism and attempting to defeat Russia on the strength of Ukrainians. They are preparing the European continent to jump into the direct armed clashes with Russia, a suicidal adventure, lest the Kiev authorities should fail, he asserted.
Western countries are not content with the war in Europe against Russia, he said, noting that if anyone reads the NATO Declaration, they can understand that the “defensive” organization has planned to launch a “defensive” battle even in the Asia-Pacific region thousands of miles away from their coasts to “defend” the territories of its member states.
The US is intentionally bringing NATO’s military infrastructure into the Pacific waters and does not conceal its intention to intensify pressure on China, the DPRK and Russia, he denounced.
At the same time, the US is trying to destroy the ASEAN-centred landscape for the regional security and cooperation in Southeast Asia, which has been shaped for decades on the basis of equality, mutual respect for interests and consensus of opinions, he said.
He emphasized that Eurasian countries must decide their destinies by themselves without any outside interference and tackle their own issues so that great Eurasia can contribute to the building of a stable multipolar world.
