The DPRK is now ushering a great heyday of construction under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .

Over the past 10-odd years many dwelling houses, public buildings, industrial establishments and monumental structures have been built in Pyongyang and other parts of the country. This year has witnessed a dynamic progress in the construction of 10 000 flats as the third-stage project in the Hwasong area of Pyongyang and the construction of rural houses, regional-industry factories for the realization of the “Regional Development 20×10 Policy” and the Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist resort.

The great heyday of construction in the country is not confined to construction itself.

Kim Jong Un believes that Korean-style socialism will advance full of vitality and the future of a powerful country will come earlier when the construction sector leads the effort to create the civilization of the times.

The construction boom is giving impetus to the development of construction-related sectors including the building-materials and construction-machine industries.

It contributes to consolidating the material and technical foundations of the construction sector both in quality and quantity, ensuring the domestic production of a diverse range of building materials, increasing the proportion of mechanization in construction work and extensively introducing advanced construction methods and architectural techniques.

This is evidenced by the fact that the technical equipment at the Sangwon Cement Complex, Sunchon Cement Complex and other building-materials production bases have been upgraded and their production successively surpassed their peak year levels and that the modernization level of regional building-materials production bases has risen rapidly with the expansion of rural housing construction.

The great heyday of construction is also propelling the development of various branches of the national economy.

Successful development in the construction sector is unthinkable apart from the role of machine-building, metallurgical, chemical, electricity, rail transport and other sectors. Aggressive promotion of construction presupposes the increase in the production of steel, basic chemicals and electric power. This also drives the expansion of the production bases and the improvement of the modernization in different economic sectors.

In recent years alone, efforts to modernize key industrial sectors including large metallurgical bases, chemical industrial bases and power generation bases go full steam ahead in the country.

Kim Jong Un ’s plan to bring earlier the future of a powerful socialist country by giving priority to the construction sector including the building of dwelling houses and industrial establishments comes into reality.
