Recently, the U.S. gave green light to the use of its long-range missiles in assault on Russia’s interior by Ukraine. In this regard, the Speaker of the State Duma of Russia warned that it would inevitably lead to Russia’s counteraction and they would not rule out the possibility of the use of new weapon system against Ukraine which they have not done so far.
In this case, the U.S. may react again and Russia’s backlash is also inevitable, and this is just the escalation of tension, the Speaker added.
He pointed out that Ukrainian forces’ expanded use of US and Western weapons can not tide over the situation of the war theatre but rather worsen the destiny and future of Ukraine and cause eventual breakdown of Russia-US relations.
Meanwhile, the Press Secretary for the Russian President exposed that the assault on Russia’s interior by the US-made long-range missiles will radically change the phase of intervention in conflicts by the West, and herein lies the dangerous and provocative nature of the prevailing situation. He noted that Russia will take corresponding decisions in view of the threats posed on it.
