The Democratic People's Republic of Korea instituted the Best IT Expert Prize this year to further enhance the role of IT experts and encourage them to develop more IT products with a world competitive edge.

At the "National IT Successes Exhibition--2024" held some time ago, five technicians were awarded the Best IT Expert Prize for the first time as they rendered distinguished services to developing the IT industry of the country.

Among them is Paek Jin Ho, Section Chief of the Information Technology Institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology.

He is said to have presented two IT products to the exhibition.

Both of them were registered to the ten best IT products in the exhibition.

Paek Jin Ho was born into an office clerk's family in the city of Sinuiju of North Phyongan Province.

He is said to be unusually good at mathematics in his childhood.

Valuing his talent, the state enabled him to receive genius education at the then Amnokgang Middle School No. 1 in the city of Sinuiju and study at Kim Chaek University of Technology as he hoped after finishing the middle school course.

During his university days, Paek studied harder and harder with a single heart to repay the benevolence of the country which trained him.

Not content with delving into his major, he put much effort into studying another discipline, that is, information science.

Thanks to the profound knowledge he accumulated, he could develop the distance education support system during his university days.

He also developed a new computer anti-virus program in a short period after his assignment to the Information Technology Institute.

Paek Jin Ho is a stubborn practician who does to the last what he was once determined to do.

Whenever he made a research, he would solve the sci-tech problems with a viewpoint that he can surely carry it out with success before arguing about its possibility.

With such viewpoint and attitude, he played a core role in putting the work of the Okryu Children's Hospital, the Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans and a number of other units on an IT footing together with his research group. He also played a leading role in the research that can be called the essence of information technology. He contributed to making the institute a collective with a high competitive edge not only in the productivity and scientific and technological strength but also in the service, quality management and supply capacity.

True to his scientific faith that we must develop IT products with a world competitive edge by our own efforts, he has made scientific researches with fervent passion and thus developed over 30 valuable IT products.

Today, too, he is devoting all his wisdom and passion to the scientific researches with an ambition to become number one in the development of IT products with a world competitive edge.
