The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held in December 2021 set the task of supplying all the students with new types of quality uniforms and bags at the state’s expense and took important measures to implement it.
Factories specializing in the production of schoolbags had already been built in every province for three years from 2017 and those specializing in the production of school uniforms and shoes were newly constructed to meet the needs of the relevant regions after the above-said Party plenum.
In a little over a year since the inauguration of the school uniform factory in North Phyongan Province in June 2023, similar factories have sprung up and started production one after another in North Hamgyong Province, Rason and Nampho municipalities and other regions.
This year alone saw the completion of the students’ shoes factories in Kanggye, Phyongsong, Sariwon and Hyesan. And factories specializing in the production of school uniforms and shoes for students have been built in every province over the past three years since the WPK plenum.
With the national production system of school uniforms, bags and shoes being in operation, an institutional guarantee has been provided for the implementation of the socialist policy to supply them to all the students in cities, rural areas, mountain villages and branch schools on islands.
In the past they were supplied through commercial networks. But a new system has been established this year for supplying them at schools by packing bags and shoes together with school uniforms with the name labels of each student attached.
In particular, a meticulous measure has been taken to ensure all students wear uniforms that fit them and look fine after they try them on in the dressing rooms arranged at schools before their supply and clothing technicians repair the defects on the spot.
The institutional guarantee for implementing the socialist policy of producing and supplying uniforms, footwear and bags to all students across the country enables all the students to grow up happily and cheerfully enjoying all socialist benefits.
It has become a system and an eternal state policy of the DPRK to make and supply uniforms, shoes and bags, as well as textbooks and school things, with sincerity at the state’s expense, further inspiring burning love of the rising generations for the country.
