Rodong Sinmun Calls for Applying Idea and Spirit of 30th Enlarged Meeting of Secretariat of Eighth C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- In order to build up the Workers' Party of Korea into a powerful political general staff and genuine party of the people, which is strong in discipline and truly serves the people, it is necessary to thoroughly apply the idea and spirit of the 30th Enlarged Meeting of the Secretariat of the Eighth Party Central Committee, says Rodong Sinmun in an editorial on February 5. It is the iron will of the Party Central Committee to establish a sound political climate within the Party by waging a strong struggle in time, never conniving at any factor which undermines and destroys the Party's discipline, the editorial says, and goes on: For our Party, the people are roots of life and sacred beings upheld as Heaven, and making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people is the mode of existence of our Party and the source of its invincible might. The recent enlarged meeting of the Secretariat strictly dealt with those who violated the rights and interests of the people. This clearly shows the will of our Party to consolidate the fortress of single-minded unity, the mainstay of our revolution. In the light of the idea and spirit of the meeting, all officials should constantly cultivate and train themselves, wondering how they have observed the Party discipline and if they can honorably stand before their consciences as Party members without any shame. A great offensive should be launched throughout the Party to thoroughly establish the revolutionary climate of the Party that respects the people and serves them. All officials should be true and faithful servants of the people who can keep the people's laughter with their own painstaking efforts, bearing deep in mind the Party Central Committee’s noble idea of "The People Are God" and devoted service for the people's wellbeing. What is essential for the eternal development of our Party, for the victorious development of our socialism and for the eternal well-being of our people is to thoroughly implement the five-point party-building line and to make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.
