Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- The DPRK people are celebrating the 113th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung .
Thanks to this significant day, a radical turn was brought about in the destiny of the Korean people and a new history of socialist Korea opened up.
In his teens, the President set forth the programme of the revolutionary struggle for building a country where the people become the masters of everything and everything serves them. He led the armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists to victory and finally achieved the historic cause of national liberation.
He instilled into the Korean people the consciousness that they were the masters of liberated Korea and worked heart and soul to establish the spirit of national independence throughout the country.
He provided the people with socio-economic and cultural conditions for creating a genuine new life by enforcing democratic reforms such as the promulgation of the law on agrarian reform, the law on nationalization of major industries, the labor law and the law on sex equality.
Under his leadership, the Korean people grew up to be genuine masters of the state and society and independent and creative people who shape their destiny with their own hands.
They defeated the U.S. imperialist aggressors and won a great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953), realized the socialist industrialization in a matter of 14 years and built a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence on this land.
They are now holding in high esteem the President as the father of socialist Korea and the eternal President of the DPRK as he turned Korea, once eclipsed in the world map after being reduced into a colony of the Japanese imperialists, into the dignified socialist state of Juche. -0-
