The Korean People's Revolutionary Army is the first revolutionary armed force in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The great leader Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.
At the beginning of the 20th century the Korean people waged various struggles against the barbaric colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists who occupied Korea but failed because they were not given a correct guidance.
In the period of ordeals Kim Il Sung set out on the road of revolution in his teens and held high the banner of the Juche idea.
Researcher Kim Un Song at the Academy of Social Sciences said Kim Il Sung founded the revolutionary army to win back the lost country, and continued.
"In fact, it is not easy to found a revolutionary army in a colonial country without national rights, state backing and support of a regular army.
The great leader Kim Il Sung considered man and weapon to be the essential factors in founding a revolutionary army and solved the issue in our own way according to the actual conditions of Korea while overcoming all the trials and difficulties."
In order to found a revolutionary army Kim Il Sung rallied behind the armed ranks workers, peasants, students and other patriotic youth of broad stripes loving the country. And he led them to make weapons by themselves while disarming the enemy of their weapons.
At last, he founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army on April 25, 1932.
That day, he called for waging a vigorous armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists to accomplish the historic cause of national liberation.
With the foundation of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, the first revolutionary armed force of Korea came into being. And since then, the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle of the Korean people could victoriously advance onto a new high stage with the armed struggle as the main current.
The Korean People's Revolutionary Army waged the bloody anti-Japanese armed struggle under the leadership of Kim Il Sung, accomplishing the historic cause of national liberation.
The Korean People's Revolutionary Army founded by Kim Il Sung was strengthened and developed into the Korean People's Army, regular revolutionary armed forces, after liberation.
Along with April 25, the revolutionary armed forces of Korea have grown into an ever-victorious revolutionary army and their future are bright.
