Recently, the electrostatic dispersion conductor developed by the Electric Engineering Faculty at Kim Chaek University of Technology has been registered as a high-tech product.
Active lightning arresting technology, an advanced technology, was applied to the conductor.
According to available data, the advantages of the technology have already been proved in several countries.
The faculty conducted years-long research with technicians of a relevant unit in order to develop the conductor in keeping with the country’s actual conditions as well as the world standards.
In the course of this, it designed a conductor by taking the sizes of storms, models of steel tower structures and environmental conditions of regions into full consideration and, on this basis, developed the highly-effective conductor.
The conductor disperses emission charge accumulated on the edges of the power transmission tower into space, thus preventing the objects under its protection scope from being stricken by lightning. In particular, it, unlike conventional types, prevents lightning from directly hitting power equipment and other facilities and produces high lightning arresting effects.
The new-type conductor has been introduced in many units across country for its high effectiveness and low production cost.
