A men's football match between the Sobaeksu and April 25 teams in the professional sports field at the 14th National People's Games took place at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang onApril 15, adding more to thefestive atmosphere of the significant April holiday.
Among the spectators were PakThae Song and Choe Ryong Hae, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureauof the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, other senior officialsof the Party, government and military organs, officials of ministries andnational agencies, Pyongyang citizens and sportspersons.
The match began with the April 25team’s kick-off drawing the attention of the audience.
Players of both teams played the match dynamically, frequently changing attack directions according to their tactical intentions,creating opportunities for scoring with quick passes and attempting to make active attacks including sudden kicks and midfieldshots.
In the fierce seesaw match, the April 25’s No. 7 scored thefirst goal with a header in the 28th minute and anothergoal in the 58th minute.
The atmosphere of the match was revved up with thepassage of time by the enthusiastic cheers of the spectators who breathed with and encouraged the players.
The April 25 Team beat the Sobaeksu Team 2-0.
The spectators congratulatedthe winning team, warmly applauding the players who showed their stubborn fighting spirit and perseverance, high football techniques, and sportsmanship and fair play.
