Established in November 2020, the Korea Tea Culture Association is a social sci-tech organization involving officials, scientists and technicians in the sector of tea culture in the DPRK.
Its mission is to establish tea tree cultivation methods and tea leaf processing techniques and further develop the tea culture of the country in keeping with the taste and liking of its people.
The association, consisting of the tea cultivation and processing section and the tea culture dissemination section, focuses on the production of various kinds of high-quality tea products, based on advanced technology and structure, as hundreds of hectares of tea fields were created across the country.
It organizes various events such as sci-tech presentations, symposiums, prize contests and workshops every year to generalize the successes and experience gained in the tea culture sector.
Meanwhile, it gives wide publicity to the country’s tea culture with a long history and tradition and pharmacological effects of tea through dissemination centres and mass media.
“We will facilitate the development of tea cultivation and processing technology and make a positive contribution to the promotion of human health through many-sided exchange and cooperation with international organizations and foreign academic bodies in the tea culture sector,” said Choe Yun Chol, chairman of the association.
