A joint friendship gathering took place at the Taesongsan Pleasure Park in Pyongyang on June 1 to mark the 75 th anniversary of International Children's Day.
Present there were Comrade Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Comrade Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Comrade Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, officials of the women's union and other officials concerned, model teachers and women in educational work and nurturing of children and kindergarteners in the city.
Also present were diplomatic representatives and members of diplomatic missions in Pyongyang, foreign guests and overseas Koreans staying in the socialist homeland.
Prior to the gathering, there was an acrobatic model aircraft demonstration of members of the Pyongyang Aviation Club.
Comrade Jon Hyang Sun, chairwoman of the central committee of the women's union, made a speech at the gathering.
Amid the playing of children's songs, the children performed their beautiful dancing and gymnastic movements in delight.
The festive mood of the gathering was revved up as the stage of pride and art performance were given by young prodigies, little musicians, soloists and dancers. Among them were the talented children who presented their writings to respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un and came first in the national Taekwon-Do fan contest (children's group), national calligraphy festival, national children's paduk contest and the Pyongyang municipal open paduk contest 2025.
It was followed by sports and amusement games.
The cute appearance of little competitors in the flower-rope skipping and ball shooting games added to the enthusiasm and optimism of the spectators.
A race between mothers hand-in-hand with their children carrying balls on their heads and in their arms, and a tug-of-war game boosted the atmosphere of the joint gathering.
Children from various countries participated in colorful amusement games, sharing friendship with the Korean children.
A beautiful circle dance of the children was displayed, crowning the end of the gathering.
