Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a field survey of various sectors.
At the construction site of 10 000 flats at the fourth stage in the Hwasong area where a great campaign for creation is being waged to turn the capital city of Pyongyang into a more splendid ideal city for the people, the Premier encouraged the builders who are expanding the successes in the project out of the single mind of loyalty to translate the noble intention of the Party Central Committee into a brilliant reality.
He stressed the need to allot manpower rationally and give precedence to the supply of materials now that the project is being carried on in earnest in a three-dimensional way and, at the same time, to put efforts into boosting the efficiency of construction equipment and strengthening the technical forces and actively utilize advanced construction methods so as to finish all structures in a qualitative way by the appointed time.
At the central wholesale exchange market under construction in the Hwasong area, he heard a detailed report on the progress in the project made by construction units and on the plan for the final construction work, and took necessary measures.
At the Taedonggang Battery Factory, he called on its officials and employees to boost the production of batteries with a variety of uses which are widely used in economic construction and the people's living and to push ahead with the development and production of more practical and efficient new-type batteries in larger numbers in a planned way in cooperation with scientists and technicians of relevant units.
At the Pyongyang Pig Farm and the Hadang Chicken Farm, he stressed the need to hold fast to the four main links for the development of animal husbandry, including putting the breeding on a scientific and technological basis and improving the veterinary and anti-epizootic work, and increase the output of pork, chicken and eggs and thus make a positive contribution to improving the diet of Pyongyang citizens.
The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of preferentially ensuring the transport of materials for the construction of dwelling houses in the capital city and intensifying the drive for economizing on materials and the issue of steadily enhancing the productivity and quality of various kinds of batteries and rapidly putting the stockbreeding sector on a modern and scientific basis, and took relevant measures.
