Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- Amid the great enthusiasm for mass sports throughout the whole society, nearly 300 units across the DPRK have become model sports units (including twice) this year.
Relevant units including the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea conducted substantial organizational and political work to make broad masses of people take part in the mass sports activities.
Dozens of units including Okryu Restaurant, the Kyongsong Electric Appliances Plant and the Phyongchon District Foodstuff General Shop have become twice model sports units.
The Ryanggang Provincial Power Transmission and Distribution Station, the Jungbong Coal Mine under the Onsong Area Coal-mining Complex, the Jisin Vegetable Farm in Huichon City and other units have built sports grounds for playing volleyball, table-tennis, tennis and other sports games, normalized their management and operation and thus become model sports units.
Educational units at all levels have improved physical culture at schools.
Sinpho University of Fisheries, Wonsan School of Arts, Sangdan Technical Senior Middle School in Jongju City, Segil Senior Middle School in Kangso District and other units have become model sports units by conducting mass sports activities such as teaching Taekwon-Do in after-school hours. -0-
