The following happened in August 2019 when the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort.
Greatly satisfied to see the resort which had undergone changes beyond recognition, he said that it was admirably changed and that it is a tremendous change.
The eye-opening change in the Yangdok hot spring area is associated with the devoted efforts of Kim Jong Un who initiated the building of the resort and visited the construction site several times.
Despite his painstaking efforts, he said that the People’s Army created a new sphere of cultural and recreational life in which skiing ground blends well with hot-spring recreation and that the people would be delightful to visit the resort.
He continued that the hot spring welling from the hot spring tourist area in Yangdok County was like honey and that we should proactively exploit natural resources and put them to effective use so that the people could benefit from them.
He said that it would be good if there is a hot spring in every province, noting that provinces could build hot spring tourist areas in other styles in keeping with their regional characteristics and that it is important to pioneer a new field for cultural and recreational life by building more leisure facilities conducive to improving public health and medical treatment.
Afterwards, he visited again the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort nearing completion. He said that our Party is a guide that pioneers a new cultural space and field for the people and leads them to enjoy a new cultural wealth and higher civilization.
