Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at the construction site of the Kusong City Hospital on September 8.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was accompanied by Jo Yong Won, Ju Chang Il, Kim Jae Ryong, Kim Yong Su and other senior officials of the Central Committee of the WPK.

He heard from officials concerned a report on the progress made in the construction.

He appreciated the efforts of the builders to achieve signal successes in the construction of the regional hospital by carrying through the intention of the Party Central Committee, which declared this year as the first year of the revolution in public health and gives top priority to the construction of the model city and county hospitals that will lead the overall rejuvenation of public health of the country, through resolute labor struggle.

He went round various places of the hospital to learn about its construction.

The construction of regional hospitals, the start of a great revolution to transform public health facilities across the country before any other sector, is the most responsible and important work to ensure that regional people receive advanced medical services in their regions just like in the capital, he said, adding that this is a substantial and new qualitative change of the region that our Party looks forward to and a meaningful progress in accelerating the building of a highly civilized and prospering state.

He noted that the public health revolution which is being carried on in parallel with the nationwide revolution in regional industry is the most urgent task which will give fresh vital power to our socialist public health, and that this work should be associated with absolute principle and the view on service of our state which subordinates and orients everything to the promotion of the people's health and well-being.

And he referred to a series of deviations revealed in the construction.

Saying that all the systems and elements of the hospital should be combined in a scientific, practical and artistic way in the many-sided aspects of functionality, convenience and architectural beauty, he clarified his opinion on important issues of finishing the construction of the hospital.

Stressing that preparations for operating the hospital should be made in a responsible manner as its construction has entered the final stage, he set forth the tasks related to the opening of the hospital.
