The Pyongyang General Hospital was successfully completed as a symbol of socialist public health, splendidly adorning the first year of the historic public health revolution, as the structures of all-round cultural efflorescence embodying the people-first political ideal of the Workers' Party of Korea, a genuine people's party, are springing up like bamboo shoots after rain.

Thanks to the great painstaking efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to give fuller play to the advantages of Korean-style socialism and provide the people with more civilized and happier living conditions through radical, fresh and qualitative changes in the sector of public health, the Pyongyang General Hospital is greeting its inaugural day on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of WPK. This is a noteworthy event of having fulfilled another long-cherished desire of the great Party Central Committee.

An inaugural ceremony of the Pyongyang General Hospital was held in splendour on October 6.

The venue of the ceremony was filled with great excitement and joy of the participants greeting the great auspicious event, which would shine forever in the history of the country, in the presence of the dear father of the great socialist family who is taking care of the destiny and future of the people across the country.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, arrived at the venue of the inaugural ceremony.

At that moment, the stormy cheers of "Hurrah!" reverberated through the sky of October.

Filled with boundless emotion, all the participants paid the highest glory and tribute to Kim Jong Un, who continues his journey of devotion to ensuring the rights and interests of the people, their long life in good health and their beautiful and vibrant life.

Present at the ceremony were leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs and other members of the central leadership body of the Party, participants in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK, officers and men of a construction unit, builders, officials of ministries and national agencies, medical workers of the Pyongyang General Hospital and Pyongyang Municipality and citizens of Pyongyang.

Expressing his pride in presenting the Pyongyang General Hospital, the first result of the public health revolution which the Party decided to launch, to the people on the founding anniversary of the Party and thus fulfilling the sacred duty of absolute service for the people, he extended special thanks to the officers and soldiers of the Guards unit, all other builders and the staff of design institutions who upheld the Party's policy and decision on the development of the public health sector with devoted labour and utmost sincerity and congratulated the officials, doctors, nurses and other employees who are to work at the excellent hospital.

He clarified the essence of the strategy for modernizing the public health sector, which the Party has planned and presses forward, and the importance of the position and role of the Pyongyang General Hospital in a new revolution aimed at the rejuvenation and leap forward in the public health sector. And he indicated the future orientation and various tasks for radically improving the public health of the country in a comprehensive way in the near future by pushing ahead with the building of the sector.

Hoping that the hospital would enjoy eternal praise as a facility that injects vigour of life and inexhaustible vitality into the people and a palace that defends their health and laughter, he firmly affirmed that he would serve the people more faithfully.

When he finished his speech, all the participants broke into enthusiastic cheers, reflecting their boundless reverence for and gratitude to the tender-hearted father who is putting his heart and soul into bringing earlier the future of the country which will be rejuvenated and prosperous along with all blessings of socialism which working people enjoy to their heart's content.

The Pyongyang General Hospital, built in an excellent location of the capital city, will shine long as a monument to the great loving care for the people, telling the immutable truth that the cherished desire of the Workers' Party of Korea is just the greatest dignity and happiness of the people and the rosiest future of the country.
