Founded on October 10, 1945, the Workers’ Party of Korea is a revolutionary party which has remained boundlessly faithful to its original ideals and spirit and maintained its revolutionary character decade after decade and century after century.

The WPK has victoriously led the cause of independence of the masses of the people, the cause of socialism, without any deviations for 80 years since its founding. This is because it has always remained faithful to its original ideals and spirit and carried them forward from one generation into the next.

Ever since its birth, the WPK has made clear the justification for its existence as an organization that was formed and is struggling for the people.

It has consistently applied to its building and activities the principles of the Juche idea that the masses of the people are the masters and the motive force of the revolution and construction. In the course of this, it has established unconditional service for the people as a climate unique to it. For this, it has been honoured with the title of the motherly Party for the first time in the history of the building of a revolutionary party.

The WPK has purposefully pushed ahead with the work aimed at ensuring the state activities are run through with the people-first principle.

It gives top and absolute priority to the people’s will, demands, interests and convenience in working out and implementing all its policies. Under its wise leadership it has become a leading climate prevailing in the Party that officials go closer to the people particularly in times of trouble, and a series of projects to provide the people with a stable and civilized life were aggressively carried out with the result that monumental structures have sprung up successively in different parts of the country.

Now the prestige of the WPK is shining at its highest level as it is led by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .

He ensured that the Party’s original ideals and spirit were invariably embodied in its building, activities and work as a whole. His sagacious leadership further developed the WPK into a party which struck deep roots in the minds of the masses of the people and formed a harmonious whole with them and into a Juche-oriented, revolutionary party which solves all problems in conformity with the aspirations and demands of the people and the specific conditions of the country.

Seeing the Workers’ Party of Korea steadfastly leading the masses’ cause of independence without any slightest mistakes, mishaps or deviations while maintaining its original ideals and spirit, the Korean people are convinced that their country would thrive more in the future.
