Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in provinces, cities and counties of the DPRK on Thursday to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).
There were reports at the meetings attended by officials of the Party and power organs, working people's organizations, industrial establishments and working people in local areas of the DPRK.
The reporters said that the 80-year history of the WPK is a glorious one in which it has dynamically led the country and people to the victory of socialism under the uplifted banner of Juche.
They stressed that the founding of the WPK was an emergence of true vanguard which assumed the important mission to lead the country and the people to socialism with full responsibility for their destiny and future and a noteworthy political event that directed the history of the country to genuine prosperity.
They noted that the 80-year history of the leadership of the WPK is shining brilliantly as it has bravely carried forward the dynamic course of bolstering up the national power while firmly defending the destiny of the country and its people with the faith in independence and self-reliance.
They said that the history and exploits of the WPK are shining at the height of the most sacred and noblest glory as they hold the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem as the great leader of our Party and revolution.
They noted that the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK is a historic watershed in reviewing the proud history of the WPK which put the country and people on the highest stage of dignity and honor by leading them along the road of Juche-oriented socialism, and carrying forward the dynamic trend towards strengthening the whole Party and achieving the prosperity of the country generation after generation.
They said that the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea would serve as a historic occasion to set a new milestone in further enhancing the leadership function and role of the Party and accelerating the overall development of socialism.
They called upon all officials, Party members and other working people to defend the absolute prestige of Kim Jong Un politically and ideologically and at the cost of their lives and remain faithful to the leadership of the Party Central Committee with a single mind. -0-
