Delegation of Party and Government of People’s Republic of China Arrives in Pyongyang

At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, a delegation of the party and the government of the People’s Republic of China led by Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, arrived in Pyongyang on October 9 to take part in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK and pay an official goodwill visit to the DPRK.
The national flags of the DPRK and the PRC were fluttering on the flagstaffs of Pyongyang International Airport and a guard of honour of the Korean People’s Army lined up at the apron before the terminal.
The delegation was warmly greeted by Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, Jong Myong Su, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Yun Jong Ho, minister of External Economic Relations, Sung Jong Gyu, minister of Culture, and Pak Myong Ho, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs.
A woman worker presented a bouquet to Li Qiang.
A ceremony for welcoming him took place.
The national anthems of the PRC and the DPRK were played.
Li Qiang reviewed the guard of honour of the KPA together with Pak Thae Song.
The masses warmly welcomed Li Qiang at the airport, waving the national flags of the two countries and bouquets.
