The Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea hosted a reception at the Kumsusan State Guesthouse on the evening of October 9 in welcome of the visiting delegation of the United Russia Party.
Present there on invitation were Dmitri Medvedev, president of the United Russia Party, members of the delegation and members of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang.
Present there were Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, and other senior Party and government officials.
Jo Yong Won made a speech at the reception.
Warmly welcoming the delegation of the United Russia Party led by Dmitri Medvedev on a visit to Pyongyang to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK together with the DPRK people, he stressed that the current visit is an expression of sincere congratulation and support of the Russian leadership and people to the WPK, the DPRK and its people.
Noting that the militant fraternity, friendship and solidarity between the DPRK and Russia are now developing onto a new high stage, fully displaying their might as an invincible alliance and relations of comrades-in-arms under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two countries, he expressed the belief that the cooperation between the ruling parties of the DPRK and Russia would consolidate the ties between the peoples of the two countries and add a fresh vitality to the strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership.
Then Dmitri Medvedev made a speech.
He expressed his sincere thanks to the WPK Central Committee for inviting him to visit the DPRK to take part in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK and according him sincere hospitality.
Noting that the great feats the DPRK people and service personnel of the Korean People’s Army performed for the operation to liberate Kursk Region will remain in the minds of the Russian people forever and be recorded as a noble part in the history of Russia, he expressed the will to further strengthen the many-sided cooperation between the two parties for the Russia-DPRK friendship.
The participants toasted the health of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, and the wellbeing and prosperity of the fraternal peoples of the two countries.
The reception proceeded in a comradely and amicable atmosphere.
