An international seminar on the Juche idea concerning the immortal banner of building a just and peaceful world was held in Pyongyang on October 8 and 9 under the co-sponsorship of the International Institute of the Juche Idea and the Korean Association of Social Scientists on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Present there were Harish Gupta and Matteo Carbonelli, vice-director generals of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, and delegations and delegates of organizations for the study of the Juche idea from different countries and regions and a delegation of Korean social scientists in Japan.

Also present there were Thae Hyong Chol, president of the Academy of Social Sciences who doubles as first vice-chairman of the Korean Association of Social Scientists, and scientists in the field of social sciences.

Harish Gupta made an opening address at the seminar to be followed by a congratulatory speech of Thae Hyong Chol.

They said the history proved the truth that independence is the only way for a nation to live and for a country to prosper, and when independence is maintained, the genuine dignity of a nation and the happy future of its rising generation can be guaranteed, expressing belief that the seminar would be a significant occasion for more deeply grasping the essence of the Juche idea and powerfully propelling the progressive people of different countries to the building of an ideal society of mankind.

Matteo Carbonelli made a keynote report.

The reporter said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clearly indicated the scientific fighting strategy and practical programmes for building a just and peaceful new world and opening up a new chapter for the development of international relations under the uplifted banner of socialism and independence against imperialism.

Noting that the DPRK is powerfully demonstrating its dignity and might while maintaining the independent stand in the international arena and steering the struggle of progressive mankind to establish a just world order under the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea, he stressed that this reality further highlights the historic mission of the pioneers of the times and the followers of the Juche idea.

The speakers said that the WPK has ushered in a heyday of strengthening the whole Party by thoroughly applying the revolutionary ideas of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to the revolution and construction and steadfastly carrying forward the Party’s original ideals and spirit, thus opening up a new era of comprehensive national rejuvenation in which the people’s dreams and wishes come true.

They highly praised the revolutionary ideas of Comrade Kim Jong Un , which is displaying great vitality and attractive power in accomplishing the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence, as the beacon of hope of progressive mankind.

Convinced that progressive mankind would invariably advance along the road of independence and justice and a new society free from exploitation, oppression and subordination would surely be built thanks to the great idea of the times which illuminates the way ahead and to the Workers’ Party of Korea which represents the light of the world and the signpost of struggle, they expressed the will to work more positively for studying and disseminating the Juche idea in relevant countries and regions.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.
