The badminton group of the Moranbong District Extracurricular Sports School in Pyongyang has won most of the men’s events at the annual national sports schools games for the past 10-odd years.
The key to the success lies in the primary effort directed to training students.
After selecting students with physical eligibility, the group tailors a training schedule for every student to acquire rudiments in such a way as to suit their physiques, ages and capacities, and makes sure that they stick to it without fail.
It pays close attention to optimizing training means and introducing new teaching methods in a steady manner to improve the efficiency of training, and to making each student acquire one or more fortes.
Tactical training is conducted in a methodological way to meet the requirements of the singles and doubles events so that students can accustom themselves to different tactics. Routine matches serve as a good chance to enhance their competitiveness.
Such approach helps the students foster perseverance, sensitiveness and judgement.
The school cruised to another victory at the 61st national sports schools games this year.
