Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- On the occasion of Mother's Day (November 16), warm congratulations are being offered to all the mothers in the DPRK who are devoting their heart and soul to the growth of their children, happiness of their families and the future of the state.
The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un saw to it that the significant day when President Kim Il Sung made a speech at the First National Conference of Mothers held in 1961 was instituted as Mother's Day and took a benevolent measure to observe this day every year.
The respected General Secretary took a measure to hold a grand conference on the occasion of the first Mother's Day and put the mothers who cultivate the harmony, prosperity and beautiful future of the great socialist family at the peak of happiness and glory.
He received a letter from a woman in the northern part of the country and wrote the autographic letters on it, reading that he thinks it is the mind of the mothers in the world to see their children making success in life and regard it as a lifelong pleasure that can never be bartered for anything. He also visited units of the Korean People's Army and had photos taken with the soldiers one by one to instill special pride in the mothers who sent their children to stand at the post for national defence. Such impressive stories and images are still kept in the mind of all the women.
The respected General Secretary, who saw to it that the Communist Mother Honor Prize was instituted, attended the Fifth National Conference of Mothers and called women beloved mothers again and again in his significant opening speech and the important speech.
Looking up to him who highly appreciated the feats of the mothers who have become models of true patriotism and roots of growing up many heroes and heroines in the glorious history of the country, the mothers across the country shed tears of excitement.
Bearing in mind his loving care and trust, many mothers of the country are making contributions to building a prosperous country, steadfastly carrying forward the family and national traits of loyalty and patriotism. -0-
