Medical workers of the spontaneous gangrene department of the Sosong District Hospital in the capital city of Pyongyang have made successes in treating spontaneous gangrene, known as one of obstinate diseases.
They have cured many patients including an honoured disabled soldier, whose treatment was considered to be impossible.
The department specializing in the study and treatment of spontaneous gangrene has steadily conducted research for the past two decades since its establishment.
They analysed the world trend of treatment and the treatment methods usually used in the country in their correlations and studied and introduced rational methods one by one.
In the course of this, they improved the treatment effect by applying stem cell transplantation and local autoclave oxygen therapy using medical oxygen. They also actively applied advanced techniques such as direct injecting heated medicines into the affected artery and sympathetic nerve dissection to delay or prevent spontaneous gangrene by blocking the sympathetic nerves related to arterial contraction.
In addition, they manufactured 10-odd kinds of medical appliances including inflammatory diagnosis device, pain-killing device, acupuncture point detection device and impulse electric treatment device to further raise the healing rate of gangrene-related wounds and promote granulation in the wounded areas.
On the basis of scientific explanation of the causes of spontaneous gangrene, they manufactured an ozonated foam solution generator which helps prevent gangrene by promoting blood circulation, thus raising the healing rate by two or three times.
