Some time ago, the 27th National Sports Sci-Tech Successes Exhibition and "National Symposium on Teaching Methods in the Field of Sports--2025" took place at the Sci-Tech Complex.

What caught the eyes of people was the "Munsubong"-trademarked sports goods.

The 8.2-metre-long smart canoes, badminton and tennis rackets, and other sports goods drew the attention of experts and amateurs for their fairly good quality. Those sports goods were produced at the Taedonggang Sports Apparatuses Factory.

In the past the products of the factory were of bad quality and so, few demanded them. After all, the name of the factory had passed from the people's memory.

After the task for making ours rank among the athletically advanced countries as soon as possible was set forth at the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, the factory made a deep study of the world trend of development of sports goods and on this basis, endeavoured to introduce the sports goods production technology using carbon fibre. As a result, the factory built the production process by itself and came to produce race boats including canoes, and badminton and tennis rackets from last year.

The factory has also built a rubber production process and mass-produces table-tennis bats.

At first, the demand for the products of the factory was not high.

But those products are said to have begun to rise in popularity after players used canoes produced at the factory and finished first at the 2025 Canoe Race for Kalmaegi Cup and the 2025 Canoe Championships.

Official Hwang Ryon Hui and Workteam Head Kim Jin Chol proudly said the products of the factory are light yet very good in quality and continued:

"We were very pleased to hear the news that players on race boats we produced came first at the national games held in April and October. And we had the confidence that we can make canoes as well as imported ones."

"We developed this table-tennis bat rubber. Recently, we've made table-tennis bat with the carbon fibre composite material, which is very popular among people. We feel greater affection for the trademark 'Munsubong' and produce sports goods with greater efforts.

That's why the quality of the table-tennis bat we produce seems to be better."

Now, the employees of the factory are making redoubled efforts to attain higher goal without resting content with the successes they have achieved.

Manager Choe Chol Man said:

"We are going to produce by ourselves the table-tennis bats and badminton and tennis rackets needed for sports lessons at the primary and middle schools and universities across the country from the next year.

If the students and pupils use the sports goods with Korean trademarks as well as school things, they and their parents will be very happy."

It is the unanimous minds of the entire employees of the factory.

"Munsubong" will be the most popular trademark loved by the Korean people.
