Pyongyang General Hospital inaugurated in October is the country’s leading medical centre that is comprehensively engaged in diagnosis and treatment, clinical study and dissemination, academic exchanges and training of health workers.
The hospital consists of the emergency department fully equipped with modern emergency and resuscitation facilities, different treatment departments provided with latest examination facilities including those for equilibrium test, the general operating theatre, conference hall, amenities and helipad among others.
The general operating theatre has dozens of operating rooms of different sizes which allow for scores of operations at the same time.
Inpatient wards are furnished with facilities that can automatically measure and monitor the vital signs and health conditions of the patients in real time and provide them with utmost convenience in living. In addition, there are shops that sell medical supplies and glasses, as well as an information dissemination room.
The effective smart medical service system enables the hospital to put all the processes–ranging from reception to consultation, examination, diagnosis, prescription and hospitalization–on an intelligent and IT footing.
“It’s an honour to be the first to receive treatment by competent doctors and kind nurses under such excellent conditions and environment,” said a resident from Phyongchon District who was recently hospitalized there.
A woman from Moranbong District said that only because she has brought up several children, the state ensured she preferentially enjoyed the benefits of the socialist public health system.
Every patient is happy with the advanced treatment and civilized and satisfactory convenience provided by the hospital.
