Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a reply message from Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on November 28.
The message said:
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un,
I express my sincere thanks to you for the beautiful floral basket you sent on the occasion of my birthday.
You sent the floral basket for me, which is not only a manifestation of your comradely concern and friendship for me but also a demonstration of good friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties, two states and two peoples of Laos and the DPRK with a long tradition.
I am very pleased tolearn that the bilateral talks between us were successfully held in Pyongyang in early October 2025 and all the important issues discussed at the talks are being positively implemented, and highly appreciate it.
I am ready tomore profoundly expand and develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties, two states and two peoples of Laos and the DPRK with a long tradition through cooperation with you and that between the leading party and state officials of the two countries and thus bring substantial interests to the two peoples and make a contribution to peace, stability, collaboration and development of the region and the world.
I wish you and your family good health and happiness and you success in your noble work.
