The Kangdong County Hospital was inaugurated in the suburbs of the capital city of Pyongyang in November.
It is an outcome of the devoted service of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who intends to make the regional people enjoy advanced medical services to the full and lead a happy life in good health like the citizens of the capital.
In 2024, while leading the efforts to implement the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, he set forth a new initiative on building healthcare facilities, leisure complexes and grain storage facilities in parallel with the projects for regional-industry factories.
He ensured that the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held at the end of the year adopted a decision on officially including the three essential projects in the Party’s new regional development policy.
As the prelude to that undertaking, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kangdong County Hospital was held in February this year, followed by similar events in Ryonggang County and Kusong City.
Comrade Kim Jong Un said at the groundbreaking ceremony of the hospital and leisure complex in Kangdong County for the implementation of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy that it is a task of top priority for the Party and government to make the public health sector modern and advanced, and dug the first spadeful of earth to start the project.
Since then he threw himself to the project for its successful completion.
He visited the construction site several times to acquaint himself with the construction and provided important instructions on the issues arising in the preparations for the operation of the hospital.
Therefore, the project came to be completed in a matter of some 280 days.
“I am very happy that another perfect hospital has been built,” said Kim Jong Un emotionally as he addressed the inauguration ceremony of the Kangdong County Hospital. “What makes me more pleased and gratified is the fact that it will contribute to ensuring good health and a cultured life for the regional people.”
It is his intention that building modern public health should be continued and steadily accelerated until fine medical benefits are sufficiently provided to the entire population. True to it, entities of new civilization and rejuvenation are coming into being one after another on this land.
