The Pyongyang Maternity Hospital boasts many medical workers who show devoted care for patients to demonstrate the superiority of the socialist public health system.
Among them are medical workers of gynaecological department No. 2.
Sin Kwon Il, head of the department, and other doctors devote themselves to the treatment of patients, regarding them as their own flesh and blood.
Once a woman living in Sunchon City, South Phyongan Province, was referred to the hospital.
She suffered from peritonitis and other diseases, so it was almost impossible to carry out the operation of the patient.
But they organized several consultative meetings for the recovery of the patient and meticulously worked out rational operation plan and treatment measures.
Dr. Ri Jin Hui in charge of the patient made great efforts to explore advanced surgical methods.
Thus, the operation was successfully performed.
After the operation the doctors and nurses visited the patient with foods good for her recovery almost every day.
Their sincere service devoted to the patients brings joy of life to many women.
The majority of the medical workers of the department have received academic degrees and work as part-time teachers at Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences, Pyongyang College of Medical Sciences and other institutions.
They also write many books on promoting women’s health.
