The 13th Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in December last year referred to the measures for actively preserving the original features of socialist society, which takes absolute service to the masses of the people as its physiology, by ensuring that the Party organizations at all levels fully meet the policy-oriented requirement of giving priority to the things that are for the masses of the people and are oriented to them.
In the DPRK giving priority to the things that are for the masses of the people and are oriented to them comes as a major policy for stepping up the revolution and construction more vigorously and giving full play to the vitality and advantages of socialism by enhancing the role of the masses.
From its early years the country has consistently adhered to the principle of regarding it as an absolute and top priority to direct major efforts to promoting the wellbeing of the masses of the people while conducting all undertakings with them at the centre of all considerations.
Although it has faced unfavourable conditions and environment and had enormous tasks to deal with, it has given priority to settling the problems of food and daily necessities for the people and steadily implemented a number of projects it had long intended to do for their good.
Over the recent years alone it has built 10 000 flats in the capital city of Pyongyang every year and modern houses in many rural areas across the country, regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties every year since 2024 and modern healthcare facilities such as the Pyongyang General Hospital and Kangdong County Hospital in Pyongyang and regions. Moreover, it has supplied all the children around the country with dairy products and other nutritious foods regularly and all the students with uniforms, shoes, satchels and school things entirely at its expense.
It has promoted all these gigantic undertakings, not because it has something to spare or a surplus of funds in its coffer but because it intends to provide the people with a happier and more civilized life.
Therefore, the Korean Party and people unwaveringly make dynamic strides along the course of their development despite the twists and turns in their way, sharing the same destiny with each other.
