Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, on January 8.
The message said:
Esteemed Comrade General Secretary,
I send my warm congratulations to you as regards the successful holding of the Twelfth Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the reelection of Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith as the general secretary of the Central Committee of the LPRP.
Your reassuming of the important duty of the general secretary is an expression of deep trust in and expectation of all the members of your party and the Lao people for you, Comrade General Secretary, devoting yourself to the party, the state and the people in a responsible manner.
I wish the fraternal Lao people new progress in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the party congress under your leadership.
I express belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between our two parties and two countries with a long history and tradition would grow stronger in all fields in the spirit of the agreement reached at our meeting in Pyongyang in October last year.
I wish Comrade General Secretary good health and great success in your responsible work.
