The right to existence of the working masses is being trampled down in Western countries.
In December last year, farmers from Germany and other countries gathered around the building of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, and staged a demonstration against the unfair trade policy of the European Union. They protested against the European Union’s attempt to enforce a trade policy that would worsen their living conditions.
Demonstrations were also staged in France, Poland, Greece and other countries day after day in protest against the EU’s policy.
In the US, many people are losing hope for their future.
According to a recent opinion poll conducted by NPR of the US, about 60 percent of the respondents expressed pessimism about the prospect of 2026, saying that the US has already fallen into decline.
Such reality in Western countries is an inevitable product of the anti-popular social system.
In those countries, mass strikes, rallies and demonstrations are incessantly held by working people of all social strata against the anti-popular policies of capitalists and governments obsessed with profit-making.
In 2024, a strike by engine drivers demanding improved conditions caused a complete halt of freight transport and almost paralyzed passenger transport in the rail transport sector of Germany, and farmers held demonstrations calling for their right to existence in France, Belgium, Spain, and other countries.
Three years ago, a strike action of the largest extent in the present century took place in the United States. Large-scale strikes were staged in many fields including the movie-making and manufacturing industries, the medical service and the press. At that time, the US media deplored the fierce strike of medical employees that shook the whole public health sector of New York, noting that it was the biggest strike in decades.
In a protest action taken in a European country in January 2024, the participants gave vent to their anger saying that they took part in the demo as they could not tolerate the inequality of society and that the heads of government are untrustworthy, and shouted the slogan “No to capitalism!”.
It is a stern evaluation of the working masses for the anti-popular social system.
