2025 marked the final year of the implementation of the five-year plan for national economic development set forth at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and it was also the second year of the implementation of the Party’s Regional Development 20×10 Policy.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set out on his field guidance tour from the outset of the year.
He attended the inauguration ceremony of the regional-industry factories in Jaeryong County in January, and the groundbreaking ceremonies of a hospital and leisure complex in Kangdong County, the largest-ever greenhouse farm and the vegetable science research centre, the Ragwon County Offshore Farm and the fourth-stage project to build 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area in Pyongyang in February. He shovelled the first spadeful of earth and pressed the button for blasting in these groundbreaking ceremonies.
In the groundbreaking ceremonies, he repeatedly expressed his will to take full charge of the sacred undertakings which are of significance in promoting the public wellbeing and to translate them into reality even though the sky might fall.
Later on, he continued his inspection tour all year round.
He paid four visits to the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm, two visits to the construction sites of hospitals in Kangdong County and Kusong City and several visits to the construction sites of the Ragwon County Offshore Farm, the Pyongyang General Hospital, the third-stage project to build 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area. Besides, he visited the construction sites of the Onpho Working People’s Holiday Camp, the school things factory and the school fixtures factory and regional-industry factories in different parts of the country.
Under his leadership, the tasks for the first and second years of the implementation of the regional development policy were successfully fulfilled: regional-industry factories sprang up one after another in many cities and counties and modern hospitals and multi-functional leisure facilities such as the Kangdong County Hospital and leisure complex, the Unsan Paper Mill in South Phyongan Province, the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area, the Ragwon County Offshore Farm and other projects were inaugurated.
