Today the Korean people are significantly celebrating the 84th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il .
Born on Mt Paektu on February 16, 1942, he devoted his whole life to the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people, performing patriotic exploits that would shine forever in the history of the country.
He put forward the revolutionary line of independence as the core of building a socialist state in the whole course of his revolutionary career, and his leadership was the motive force that firmly defended the DPRK’s sovereignty and the right to existence and development and demonstrated the prestige and dignity of the country before the world.
In the 1990s, when the country faced the worst ordeals and difficulties due to the consecutive natural disasters and the imperialists’ persistent moves to isolate and stifle it, he formulated Songun politics as the basic political mode of socialism and led the acute anti-imperialist, anti-US confrontation to victory. As a result, socialism was firmly defended in the country.
He unveiled a grand plan for building a powerful nation while leading the struggle for defending socialism, and wisely led the efforts to implement it.
Taking pride in dedicating himself to the country and people, he gave field guidance to military outposts, factories, farm villages, schools, hospitals and others in different parts of the country.
The single-minded unity of all the people and the invincible military might were consolidated in every way and foundations for building a prosperous country were laid one by one thanks to his ceaseless inspection tours for the country and the revolution.
The current eye-opening reality in the country in which precious successes proving the advance and development of Korean-style socialism are being made in succession is unthinkable apart from his devoted efforts.
