Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) — The DPRK people greet the Day of the Shining Star, the greatest national auspicious holiday, ahead of the historic Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea which will open up brighter prospects for the country and revolution. They are recollecting with deep emotion the noble revolutionary career and exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il that will shine forever along with the victorious development of Juche Korea.
Senior Party and government officials visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on Feb. 16, the 84th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Among the visitors were Pak Thae Song, Choe Ryong Hae, Jo Yong Won, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, and other senior Party and government officials, officials of the Party Central Committee, leading officials of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, Party and administrative leading officials of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies and commanding officers of the armed forces organs.
The Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, was wrapped in a solemn atmosphere.
Laid before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il was a flower basket in the name of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Also placed were flower baskets in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the SPA Standing Committee of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet.
The participants paid high tribute to the statues of the great leaders.
At the hall where the President and the Chairman lie in state, they extended best wishes for immortality to the great leaders.
All the participants pledged to fulfill their important responsibilities and duties assigned by the Party and the people in the vanguard of the sacred struggle to attain the grand goal to be advanced at the Ninth Congress of the WPK, true to the ideas and leadership of Kim Jong Un and by holding higher the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the banner of eternal victory.
