The Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, an important political event in the history of our Party and state, is to be held soon in the DPRK amid the great expectation and interest of all the Party members and other people across the country.
It will be an important watershed in the history of leadership of the WPK, which has built a people’s country dignified and powerful with self-dependence and self-sustenance, remaining faithful to the socialist ideology and cause for 80 years and wisely guided the revolution and construction in the new era for comprehensive development of the state and the promotion of the people’s wellbeing. The preparations for the Congress were finished and delegates of the Party to play an active role in the vanguard of the new sacred course left for the venue of the Congress.
Delegates and observers to the Ninth Congress of the WPK arrived in Pyongyang, the capital city of the revolution, on February 16 with boundless respect of all the Party members and other people and service personnel for our great Party, the organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people, and precious successes made in implementing the Party’s policies.
Officials of the Central Committee of the WPK including secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK Ri Hi Yong, Kim Tok Hun and Choe Tong Myong warmly greeted the participants in the Congress.
In streets of Pyongyang, citizens warmly welcomed the honourable delegates who have played a vanguard role in implementing the lines and policies of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK aimed at a new victory of the socialist cause of our own style and an advance toward a higher stage and embody the trust of all the Party members in the Party Central Committee and enthusiasm of our people’s loyalty to the country.
The delegates are full of the will to take part in the work of the supreme leadership body of the Party in a responsible manner, aware of the trust and expectation of the people and the sacred mission and important duty entrusted by the Party organizations.
