The Vocational Technology College for Disabled Persons affiliated with the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled is situated in Pulgungori-dong No. ２, Pothonggang District.

In the school, disabled persons in working age learn various skills and build capabilities with which to work according to their tastes and hopes.

The school was built ten-odd years ago thanks to the policy of the motherly Party on protecting the disabled and bringing their talents and dreams into full bloom.

For the past years, lots of students have graduated from the school and lead a worthwhile working life in various sectors.

The school instructs students in various skills such as hair-cutting, beauty art, clothing, food processing, assembly and repair of electronic devices. Students can choose any one of those skills to learn according to their own aptitudes.

Teachers of the school strive for bringing up disabled students to be talents contributing to the building of a prosperous country.

Among them is Pak Chung Il who is devoting his all to the education of students despite his disabled body.

Twenty years ago, Pak who was a student of Huichon Communications University (at that time) lost his two legs due to an unexpected accident.

At that time he was driven to despair.

He writhed in agony with the fear that he became a useless being of no help to the country in his youth.

However, it was an idle fear.

The country did not make discrimination but showed warmer love for him.

Teachers and comrades of the university informed him with confidence and courage to finish the university, devoting kindred affection to him.

He finally was granted a diploma and certification as an engineer and began working in the IT field.

In those days, he keenly felt the benevolence of our grateful socialist system which injects vigor and hope to disabled persons and brings them up to be talents having a large share in social life through actual life experience.

Later he came to know that there was a vocational technology college for disabled persons and volunteered to work there to give disabled persons confidence and courage that anyone can surely become talents helpful to the social development when they are determined.

Truly advantageous is our socialist system injecting hopes and happiness into disabled persons and ardent indeed are the affection and love for them.

That’s why all the students of the college unanimously say that they grow up to be talents under the benevolent socialist system.

Their heartfelt voices reflect their boundless gratitude to the socialist country, the great Party which pays more attention to sick and wounded ones and bestows dignity and pride on them.
