Artistic performance given in welcome of Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of Central Committee of CPC and President of PRC

An artistic performance was given with splendour at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on the night of June 8 in honour of Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China, who is on a state visit to the DPRK, opening up a good prospect in the course of the DPRK-China friendship in the new era.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, enjoyed the performance together with Comrade Xi Jinping.

Comrade Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju greeted Comrade Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan at the plaza of Pyongyang Indoor Stadium.

When Comrade Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju appeared in the auditorium together with Comrade Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan amid the playing of the welcome music, all the participants paid the highest tribute to the top leaders of the DPRK and China who are writing a new brilliant chapter in the great history of the DPRK-China relations.

Comrade Kim Jong Un and Comrade Xi Jinping extended warm greetings to the enthusiastically cheering audience.

Present there at invitation were Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and member of the Secretariat and director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the CPC and minister of Foreign Affairs, Liu Haixing, head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Tang Fangyu, director of the Policy Research Office of the Central Committee of the CPC, Dong Jun, minister of National Defence of the PRC, Zeng Shanjie, head of the National Development and Reform Committee of the PRC, Wang Wentao, minister of Commerce of the PRC, and other entourage members of the Chinese side, Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy members.

Among the audience were Kim Jae Ryong and Ri Il Hwan, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Song Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Choe Son Hui, minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, and other senior Party, government and military officials, officials of the Party Central Committee, ministries and national agencies, and officials, creators and artistes in the field of culture and the arts, Pyongyang citizens, and youth and students.

The national anthems of the PRC and the DPRK were played.

The performance began with Chinese song “We Sing of Motherland” and Korean song “The Glorious Motherland”. Put on the stage were famous songs full of patriotism, revolutionary spirit and national sentiments of the DPRK and Chinese peoples in colourful and special artistic forms.

The famous songs of the two countries dealt with the ardent patriotism, firm will to defend peace and indomitable pioneering spirit the fraternal peoples have displayed in the long journey for building powerful socialist countries under the uplifted red flag, overcoming all challenges of history in the East of the Earth. They added to the precious and intimate feelings between the peoples of the two countries who have demonstrated the tradition of comradely friendship and unity while devoting their precious blood and sweat to socialist construction from one century to the next with one noble idea.

The medleys of Chinese songs “New World” and “Let’s Sing of the New Age” wonderfully represented the genuine encouragement of the DPRK people to the Chinese people who are making steady development and changes in the course of comprehensively building a modern socialist country under the leadership of Comrade Xi Jinping.

The performance ended with the finale “DPRK-China Friendship Is Everlasting.”

The performance won great admiration of the audience as it showed a world of solemn and fascinating art with beautiful and graceful songs and dances, Korean-style high-profile and seasoned acrobatic works highly appreciated at international circus festivals and special stunts in harmony with amazing illuminations and changing background.

Comrade Kim Jong Un and Comrade Xi Jinping had flower baskets presented to the performers who gave the successful performance.

The performance, which showed the deep trust of the DPRK people in and their genuine friendship with Comrade Xi Jinping and the fraternal Chinese people through cheerful artistic depiction, beautifully decorated another page of the history of friendship and solidarity between the DPRK and China.
