Another historic Pyongyang meeting between the top leaders of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China was arranged at a time when the traditional DPRK-China friendship, forged on the long journey for achieving independence against imperialism, preserving peace and accomplishing the socialist cause, overcoming all hardships of the times, is developing at a new strategic level.

Comrade Xi Jinping's visit to the DPRK in the significant year marking the 65th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance serves as an important and meaningful one in developing the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations, the strategic option and valuable common asset of the two parties and the peoples of the two countries.

The national flags of the two countries fluttered at the flagstaffs.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju came to Pyongyang International Airport to greet Comrade Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.

Present at the airport were Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials.

Comrade Xi Jinping's private plane landed at the airport at noon on June 8.

Comrade Kim Jong Un had an emotional meeting with Comrade Xi Jinping.

He shook hands with Comrade Xi Jinping, expressing his pleasure at their reunion in Pyongyang nine months after the significant meeting in Beijing in September last year.

Comrade Xi Jinping expressed his deep thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Un for warmly welcoming him, while expressing his impressions about the revisit to Pyongyang in seven years.

Accompanying him were Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, member of the Secretariat and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee and minister of Foreign Affairs, Liu Haixing, head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, Tang Fangyu, director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, Dong Jun, minister of National Defence of the PRC, Zeng Shanjie, head of the National Development and Reform Committee of the PRC, Wang Wentao, minister of Commerce of the PRC, and other entourage members.

Lovely children presented bunches of flowers to Comrade Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.

Comrade Xi Jinping's private car left the airport, escorted by motorcycles.

Along the route from Sunan District to Rimhung, Saeppyol and other streets, Pyongyang citizens warmly welcomed Comrade Xi Jinping who has come with warm feelings of friendship of the fraternal Chinese people towards the DPRK people.
