visits newly built sci-tech complex
Supreme leader Kim Jong Un visited the new Sci-tech Complex which showcases the Party’s idea of attaching importance to science and technology and serves as a benchmark for the Juche-oriented architecture in the 21st century.
He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju, Kim Yang Gon, O Su Yong, Jo Yong Won, Kim Yo Jong and Ma Won Chun.
With a total area of over 106 600 square metres, the complex is a latest sci-tech hub the supreme leader has presented to the people as a gift in the contemporary era of the knowledge-based economy.
Having been briefed in front of a large map, he looked round the complex to inquire about construction and preparations for the operation of the facility.
It is a laudable achievement to have digitized the existing sci-tech books, as well as up-to-date sci-tech hits and materials at home and abroad, in a comprehensive and systematic manner, he said.
A passing review takes such a long time, he said after he made the rounds of different places of the complex for hours. He added that he felt a lump in his throat to think of how much effort the builders and volunteers might have made to finish the uphill project in that short timeframe. He highly praised the service personnel and people for their creative zeal, inexhaustible spiritual strength and ardent patriotism.
He, on behalf of the Workers’ Party of Korea, thanked the officers, officials, builders and volunteers who have prepared yet another wonderful gift for the Party to give to the people.
The country should be developed into a sci-tech power and a talent powerhouse in order to build a thriving nation, in which all dreams of the people are realized, on this land, he stated. He specified tasks and ways to make further preparations for the operation of the complex.
