He said he was very glad to meet the persons of meritorious deed, who made spectacular achievements in this year’s fishing campaign, in the yard of the Party Central Committee and warmly congratulated them who were to be awarded Party and state decorations in the office building of the Party Central Committee amid expectation, interest and envy of all sectors and units of the whole country.

Referring to the fact that the fishes caught in the KPA fishery were supplied to major industrial establishments, baby homes, orphanages, rest homes, thermal power stations and coal mines as well as army posts, he said he could hardly contain his pleasure whenever he was informed that soldiers and people were delighted as they were given fishes.

The most precious and greatest success the officials of the KPA fishery achieved this year is that they proved the validity of our Party policy and upheld its authority and ensured the people’s confidence in our Party, he noted.

It is the intention of the Party Central Committee to hold up and bless the officials and fishermen in the army fishery, who overpowered the sea as they overcame physical burdens throughout the year to relieve the Supreme Commander of his cares and help build up combat capabilities of the KPA, as the fighters who have performed the greatest feats in this year’s campaign for great upswing, and make the other sectors and units take their cue from them so that the fire kindled by the army fishery could flare up all across the country, he stated.

He set the targets of fishing the sector should hit next year and tasks to be tackled in further consolidating the material and technical foundations of fishery stations including proper measures to be taken to store and keep fishes so that fresh fishes could be supplied to service members.

The KPA fishery brought about a bumper harvest of fish even in unfavourable fishing conditions and stirred up the whole country and encouraged our army and people to miracles and exploits with the success, he said, adding he hardened his resolve through the success to make a breakthrough for the improvement of the people’s livelihood from the fishery.

Army General Hyon Yong Chol, minister of the People’s Armed Forces, read the decree of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly on awarding Party and state decorations to exemplary officials and logistic officials.

The Supreme Commander conferred the decorations on them.

He then had a photo session with the participants against the background of the office building of the Party Central Committee.
