Rodong Sinmun on S. Korea-U.S. "Alliance"

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- The south Korea-U.S. "alliance" is one against the Korean nation, quite contrary to the June 15 joint declaration, the idea of "By our nation itself" and the will and interests of the nation, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in a signed article.
The Grand National Party, malignant conservative organizations and press media in south Korea, have persistently pursued dependence on the outside forces, "alliance" with them, the article says, and continues:
Their reckless behavior is a challenge to the trend of the times in which the Korean nation has advanced hand in hand by itself under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and an unpardonable treacherous act intended to give up the independent rights and interests of the nation and continue to put south Korea under the U.S. domination.
The south Korea-U.S. "alliance" is not "one for security" but one for war and against reunification. The U.S. has established "alliance" with south Korea in a bid to invade the DPRK with south Korea as a springboard and dominate the whole of Korea, not to defend south Korea.
The south Korea-U.S. "alliance" is still leveling at the DPRK. In the long run, the "alliance" is not only an obstacle to relaxing the tensions of the Korean Peninsula but also a factor of threatening the peace of the country and disturbing the reconciliation and reunification of the north and the south.
The south Korean pro-U.S. forces are talking about their "interests" from the "alliance" with the U.S., but they are not for the people.
With nothing can the pro-U.S. conservative forces of south Korea justify the anachronistic and anti-national "alliance" with the U.S. Such treacherous "alliance" running counter to the aspiration and basic interests of the Korean nation and the requirements of the era of independent reunification should be broken at an early date.
