Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- The ideological and spiritual source of the Juche idea is Jiwon (aim high) originated by Kim Hyong Jik, father of President Kim Il Sung and outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement of Korea.
Jiwon is a revolutionary and patriotic idea based on the historical lessons the Korean people had drawn in the struggle to win back the ruined country.
Reflected in the idea are the ardent love for the country, nation and people, absolute trust in the might of the popular masses and a thorough-going independent spirit that the national independence should be achieved by the nation's own efforts.
President Kim Il Sung embarked upon the road of revolution with the idea as valuable ideological and spiritual pabulum and mixed himself with the people to find a new road of the revolution.
In those years, he came to have the idea that one can win a victory only when one is responsible for the revolution in one's country and carries it out in reliance on the strength of one's people and that one should solve all problems arising in the revolution in an independent and creative way.
The Juche idea presupposes Marxism-Leninism ideologically and theoretically.
While reading Marxist-Leninist books with avidity, he sympathized with the socialist idea advocated by the preceding theories and found out its limitations of the time and history.
Basing himself on the deep-going analysis of them, he fathered new principles of revolution and the essentials of the Juche idea, an independent revolutionary idea.
The Juche idea, thus, is deeply related with Marxism-Leninism which advocates liquidating the exploitation and oppression of man by man, doing away with all the sorts of social inequalities and building a socialist society where the broad sections of the working masses live a free and equal life.
It does not mean that the Juche idea directly inherits some Marxist-Leninist principles.
The Juche idea is an idea connected with Marxism-Leninism, but it is an original revolutionary idea which gives an answer to the requirement of the historical era differing from the latter and is evolved with and systematized its own inherent principles.
