Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, went round the construction site of the apartment houses for scientists close to completion.
He was greeted by commanding officers of the unit participating in the construction and officials of the relevant field.
The "speed on Masik Pass" was displayed in the construction of apartment houses of 21 blocks and the project has been carried out 85 percent on an average.
He went round apartment house No. 17 whose outer tiling has been fully completed.
He looked round flats Nos. 1 and 2 on the ground floor of the apartment house No. 17.
Acquainting himself in detail with the construction of the interior, he paid deep attention to colors of wall covering, beds, desks, sofas and other furniture for each room.
He went round kitchens and wash rooms. He appreciated their good construction by using nice finishing building materials.
Appreciating good furniture, he was very pleased to hear that furniture production units are competing with each other to provide better furniture to the apartment houses.
He told officials to fully provide all conditions so that scientists may bring with them only their personal belongings and articles for living liked by them when moving to new flats.
Apartment houses for scientists have been well designed and constructed at a high level, he said, adding he is satisfied with them and they look fashionable and impeccable.
After going round the apartment houses, he advanced the tasks to be fulfilled for winding up the project.
He called for dynamically pushing forward tree planting, creating turf and other work for greening and pavement of walk path.
After getting familiar with the construction of school, kindergarten, hospital and other public buildings and welfare and service facilities, he stressed the need to press ahead with the construction as scheduled.
He underscored the need to build the district of the apartment houses for scientists in such a way that it may be a model in building residential quarters.
The day of the completion of the apartment houses for scientists is drawing close thanks to the efforts of the builders, he said, giving an instruction to successfully wind up the construction of the apartment houses to be proud of.
He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Hwang Pyong So and Ma Won Chun.
