Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 61st anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
Papers here carry editorials in praise of the exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung in winning the victory in the war.
The war in the 1950s was a hard-fought revolutionary war unprecedented in the world history of war.
No wonder, the international community watched with great concern the war between the less than two-year old DPRK and the U.S. imperialists with the history of more than hundred years of aggression.
The army and people of the DPRK wrought a historical miracle of defeating the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world" by displaying matchless heroism and self-sacrificing spirit in the war characterized by the great imbalance of power.
The victory in the war was the brilliant one of the ideology and faith, strategies, tactics and commanding art of Kim Il Sung, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:
His matchless grit and pluck served as an ideological and mental source that encouraged the army and people of the DPRK to display the spirit of certain victory and popular heroism, and his original strategies, tactics and war methods were a powerful treasured sword that enabled to overpower the numerical and technical superiorities of the enemy.
Led by him the DPRK fought a victorious war from the beginning, recording the whole course of the war with brilliant gains and feats.
He brought about the second liberation day by beating back the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces and opened a new era of surge in the struggle against imperialism. These feats are unprecedented in the history of the Korean nation and the human history of politics.
Minju Joson says that Kim Il Sung who brought about a shining victory admired by the world will live forever in the hearts of the Korean people and the world progressives as a symbol of victory of anti-imperialist independent cause, ever-victorious outstanding strategist and a legendary hero.
